Meals Inside the Tent

Day by day, the food became worse both in quality and quantity. In contrast, the quota set for our labor became more demanding; as a result, Japanese soldiers got physically weaker and weaker. Under such conditions, senior soldiers who had a smaller quota were given a greater portion, and junior soldiers with a greater quota received less food. A private first-class, Kikuo Morita from Wakayama prefecture, courageously protested against it.
