The Long-Awaited Boarding
Finally, the day to go back home to Japan came. We were at the port of Nakhodka.
The moment the Japanese flag on the ship came into my eyes, I was assured this was actually going to happen. I could not wait while a Soviet officer was calling each one’s name, under the supervision of an official from Japan. “Isamu Yoshida!” As my name was called, I danced onto the gangplank of the boat.
