Among Those Who Came to Receive Us.
When we took the first step onto our homeland, the first thing that suddenly jumped into our eyes was the blue-eyed, tall American soldier in a good-looking army uniform who stood in the midst of the voices of appreciation of many people who came to receive us.
Considering my long, difficult experience in the Siberian detainees' camps, where I was constantly guarded and watched by blue eyes, I could not help feeling some anxiety and doubt when I encountered other blue-eyed soldiers here in my home land again.
However, I concealed my thoughts and proceeded to the dormitory prepared for returnees from Siberia in order to make a fresh start.
