Battle in the Hengdaohezi Area
While Soviet aircraft kept bombing and machine-gunning in the Hengdaohezi area, we hand-carried field artillery and 10-kilo bombs to fight against Soviet tanks. From the foxholes, some Japanese soldiers attacked, risking death for honor. During one such battle, our barracks were totally destroyed by Soviet aircraft
Nevertheless, we did not give up resisting Soviet aircraft while trying to protect the Japanese pioneers, refugees from the villages, and young Korean soldiers crying in confusion. However, the attack was one-sided and did not give us a chance to resist. How regretful it was!
