While we were staying overnight outside on our way back to Mudanjiang, we had to get permission from the Soviet Guards to get water. However, the language barrier caused the Soviets mistakenly to believe some of us were trying to run away, and many innocent Japanese soldiers were shot to death. Soon, the waterfront was covered with a mountainful of dead bodies. Such a tragic scene was unbearable. The arrogance of the winner of the war was unacceptable, and the way they guarded us was extremely rough.
