Safe Arrival at the Camp
The next day, the police was able to contact the camp, and a Soviet officer came to pick me up.
On my way back to the camp, escorted by the officer, Soviet children came close to look at me out of curiosity. They all said, "Wow, look at him ! He is a Japanese soldier!"
When I had safely returned the camp, my comrades seemed to have thought I had run away. They were so happy for me that I could return safely.
